ROUND ROCK, TX — A local man was sentenced to more than 75 years in prison on Wednesday for hiring others to steal $1.6 million in goods from several jewelry stores, according to a published report.
Marvin "Beau" Lewis, 40, had been accused of orchestrating 11 heists throughout 2014 and 2015, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Aside from a 77-year prison term, the judge ordered Lewis pay nearly $1.6 million in restitution and forfeit a 2010 Porsche Panamera, about $25,000 in cash, and the ill-gotten gold and diamond jewelry, according to the report.
Prosecutors successfully argued Lewis was responsible for the robberies of five Austin stores, three Houston stores, two Katy stores and one store in Ohio.
