ICYMI: Mayor Plans Grand Entrance At July 4 Celebration By Skydiving Onto Grounds

July 4th Frontier Days Celebration & Sertoma July Fourth Parade will start off with a bang as mayor literally drops in.

Round Rock, TX -- At gatherings with the public, most mayors are content with making a few remarks, maybe turning dirt over with a shovel at a groundbreaking, cutting the strings with an oversize pair of scissors at a ribbon cutting or posing with a cartoonishly large check in lauding philanthropic donations.

Mayor Alan McGraw is not content with such obligatory appearances. McGraw plans quite the entrance to kick off the city's Independence Day party, scheduled to skydive onto the grounds of the upcoming Round Rock July 4th Frontier Days Celebration.

He'll make the jump at 8 p.m. July 4, and it will be live streamed. The city plans live coverage of his grand entrance from inside the plan on Facebook. The feed starts at 7:55 p.m. inside the aircraft and will continue at ground level upon landing.
