Round Rock: No Trash, Recycle Pickup Through Thursday Due To Continued Icy Conditions (Update)

City offices, facilities remain closed Wednesday, Thursday

Feb. 17 update: Because icy road conditions have worsened overnight and are expected to remain hazardous, trash and recycle pickup has been suspended for Wednesday and Thursday. The Brush Recycling Center will remain closed through Thursday.

Feb. 16 update: Continued icy conditions means no trash or recycle pickup for City of Round Rock customers on Tuesday, Feb. 16, and Wednesday, Feb. 17.

Solid waste pickup will be delayed at least another day this week as icy conditions and sub-freezing temperatures are forecast to continue. A decision on whether to start trash and recycle pickup on Thursday will be made on Wednesday.

Feb. 15 Update: City of Round Rock offices will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 16, and Wednesday, Feb. 17, due to continued icy weather. The City’s decision to close an additional day is due in part to reduce the need to provide full electrical power to its facilities.

The City continues to urge residents to take steps to handle continued sub-freezing conditions. Power outages are the responsibility of Oncor. The City does not operate an electric or gas utility.
