Round Rock Nurses Honored

Councilman Will Peckham visited St. David's Round Rock Medical Center to honor nurses during week-long observance in tribute to profession.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Round Rock City Council member Will Peckham this week visited St. David's Round Rock Medical Center to honor outstanding nurses in a week that pays tribute to their work.

Peckham read a proclamation during his stop, declaring May 6-12 as Nurses Week in Round Rock. During his visit, three St. David's Round Rock staff members received awards for providing excellent patient care. The honored medical professionals are:

  • Haley Mendel was named the hospital's Outstanding RN of the Year.
  • Harrison Cummins was named the hospital's Outstanding PCT (patient care technician) of the Year.
  • Rochelle Horsley was named the hospital's DAISY Award Winner. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is a national awards program recognizing nurses who provide extraordinary compassionate care to patients and their families.
