Round Rock Police Bolster Presence Around School After Attempted Child Abuduction

A child said two men in a truck directed him to get inside the vehicle on his way to school, an invitation with which he refused to comply.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- Police have bolstered their presence in the vicinity of an elementary school on Tuesday after receiving reports of an attempted abduction of a child on his way to class.

At about 7:52 a.m., Round Rock police responded to Old Town Elementary School at 2200 Chaparral Drive following school administrators' reports of the attempted abduction. The child involved in the incident told school officials he was approached by a pair of men in a newer-model, silver-colored, four-door truck, police said in an advisory.

The men told the student to get into the truck, but the child did not comply. The child then continued bicycling on his way to school, where he promptly reported the incident.
