Round Rock Police To Stage Church Active Shooter Training
Security awareness training to faith communities long offered, but this one comes in the wake of Sutherland Springs mass shooting.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The Round Rock Police Department is hosting a "Surviving an Active Shooter" training for members of areas churches on Thursday evening, officials said.
The department has long offered security awareness training to areas churches and businesses, but interest in tonight's session could be heightened given a recent shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas, near San Antonio. Last Sunday, a gunman entered the church before killing 26 parishioners in the worst mass shooting in state history.
The local training session is scheduled to take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at police headquarters, 2701 N. Mays St.
