Round Rock School Board Calls For $508.43M Bond Referendum
Citing 'critical needs,' board members set Nov. 6 referendum a little over a year since voters rejected a $572 million bond ask.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The Round Rock ISD school board on Monday called for a November bond election for a debt issuance of more than $500 million a little over a year since a similarly sized bond referendum was rejected by voters.
The Nov. 6 election will ask voters to approve a $508.43 million bond package to cover "critical needs" throughout the district, officials said. Among those needs is construction at McNeil and Westwood high schools and renovation/reconstruction at C.D. Fulkes Middle School.
In May 2017, 52 percent of the electorate rejected bond referenda totaling $572 million. This time around, the bond is a tad less, and will be presented as a single referendum rather than three separate packages, district officials noted.
