Round Rock Schools Participating In USDA's Summer Free Meals Program

USDA plans to serve more than 200 million free meals to children 18 years and under starting in June, including Round Rock youth.

ROUND ROCK, TX β€” The Round Rock ISD will participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture summer meals program, offering those 18 and under free food on campus starting as early as June 5 at some schools.

Those availing themselves of free meals don't have to be registered with the district or verify their age, residence or income. Visitors will be directed to sign in at participating schools' front desk.

Participating schools in Round Rock ISD, with the dates and times of meal service are:

Elementary Schools

  • Double File Trail: June 6 – June 21; breakfast served from 7:40 -8:05 a.m., lunch: 10:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Live Oak: June 6 – June 21; breakfast served from 7:45 to 8 a.m., lunch: 10:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Gattis: June 12 – July 14; breakfast served from 7:30 to 7:50 a.m., lunch: 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • Jollyville: June 12 – July 14; breakfast served from 7:30 to 7:50 a.m., lunch: 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Middle School

  • Hernandez: June 5 – June 21; breakfast served from 8 a.m. to 8:25 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

High Schools

  • RRHS, SPHS, CRHS, RROC and Success: June 5 to June 30; breakfast served from 8 a.m. to 8:25 a.m., lunch: from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
  • ECHS – June 5 – June 21; breakfast served from 8 a.m. to 8:25 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session, according to information on the USDA website. This summer, USDA plans to serve more than 200 million free meals to children 18 years and under at approved SFSP sites.
