Round Rock Seeks Volunteers To Pick 'Local Legends'

ROUND ROCK, TX — The last day to apply as volunteers on the Local Legend Selection Committee is on Friday, officials said.

The Historic Preservation Commission is now seeking volunteers to serve on the Local Legend Selection Committee, which will select the 2020 Local Legends. Applications must be received by Jan. 10.

Members of the committee must be available to meet once or twice between February through June for outreach activities to encourage nominations, and once or twice between July-August to select the 2020 Local Legends, city officials explained in the municipal website. Committee members will also prepare the award presentation to city council.'

Those interested in being a part of the 2020 Selection Committee are asked to send a Selection Committee application by:

• Sending a completed pdf copy to locallegends@roundrocktexas.gov or
• Mailing a printed version to: Planning & Development Services Department, 301 W. Bagdad Ave. Ste. 210, Round Rock TX 78664.

Those interested are directed to refer to the Local Legends page for more information about the awards and previous honorees. Nominations for the Local Legend Awards are accepted year-round, but must be received by May 29 to be considered for the 2020 awards, city officials said.
