As their project, the middle schoolers based their presentation on the first successful prosecution of the Ku Klux Klan, which happened to have occurred in Williamson County in the early 1920s..
Students also were required to submit a process paper recording their research and steps taken to complete the project. Students were judged on all three pieces, with only the first and second place winners advancing to the state-wide meet.
