ROUND ROCK, TX — Round Rock police dispatched a SWAT team to a home in response to a barricaded person, according to reports.
The tactical unit was sent to Kenney Fort Boulevard and Forest Creek Drive just before 5:30 p.m., officials said. The intersection there was subsequently closed off to traffic, and police urged people to avoid the area entirely.
The standoff ended by 8 p.m., although police did not detail just how the situation was defused. The man who had barricaded himself reportedly was not injured but transported to a hospital for medical evaluation. It's also unclear what prompted the man to hole himself up in his home or why police were intent on coaxing him out.
