Round Rock Toddler Struck, Killed By Car

Despite life-saving measures by an off-duty firefighter before medics' arrival, child died succumbed to injuries sustained Sunday afternoon.

ROUND ROCK, TX — A Round Rock toddler was killed over the weekend in a parking lot near soccer fields, according to reports.

The 3-year-old child died near Old Setters Park on Sunday afternoon after being struck by a car, KVUE reported. The incident occurred at 2068 Harrell Parkway at around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 29, according to the report. An off-duty firefighter performed life-saving measures before medics' arrival, but the child was pronounced dead at 1:51 p.m., according to reports.

The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with a police investigation, but it's unclear if any charges would be filed. The crash occurred a day after another child was struck and killed by a car in northeast Austin at Yager Lane, the news station reported.
