Round Rock: U.S. 79, South Red Bud Lane Railroad Crossing Closure Delayed, Expected To Take Place In October

Crossing will be closed to all traffic, drivers will be detoured during closure

Union Pacific Railroad has delayed a traffic closure along the railroad crossing at U.S. 79 and South Red Bud Lane until early October. The closure will take place in order for Union Pacific to replace planking at the U.S. 79 and South Red Bud Lane railroad crossing.

During the closure, drivers will be detoured via the following alternate routes:

  • Southbound traffic on North Red Bud Lane will be directed westbound on U.S. 79, then north on Joe Dimaggio Boulevard, south on Kenney Fort Boulevard, then east to Forest Creek Boulevard to access South Red Bud Lane
  • Northbound traffic on South Red Bud Lane will be directed westbound on Forest Creek Drive, then north on Kenney Fort Boulevard, then east on Joe Dimaggio Boulevard to access U.S. 79
  • Barricades will be placed just north of CR 123 to allow access to local traffic
  • Local traffic will have access to Brushy Creek Road from the south
