Round Rock Woman Charged With Filling Illegal Prescriptions

Marlena Lauren Moore, 33, secured hydrocodone including at an H-E-B pharmacy at 1700 East Palm Valley Road in Round Rock, police say.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Police have accused a Round Rock woman of using a fraudulent prescription illegally written by a former Austin sleep clinic worker, according to a published report.

Marlena Lauren Moore, 33, allegedly secured the illegal prescription from Kristy Hargrove, a former worker at the Austin Neurology and Sleep Associates, who now faces federal charges stemming from a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) investigation launched last year.

Officials have charged Hargrove with forging prescriptions for 19 people on a monthly basis as part of a drug trafficking organization. One of those people was Moore, who filled numerous fraudulent prescriptions Hargrove wrote for her for hydrocodone, including one she filled June 15, 2016, at an H-E-B pharmacy at 1700 East Palm Valley Road in Round Rock, police wrote in an affidavit.

Moore has been charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Williamson County Jail records indicate she was not in custody at the jail as of Wednesday.
