Round Rock Woman Finalist In Major Modeling Competition

ROUND ROCK, TX — A young woman from Round Rock is one of four finalists in a key modeling competition that promotes conventional body types while enabling contestants to fulfill their runway dreams.

Julia Rose Miller of Round Rock is a finalist for the Torrid Model Search 2018 competition, organizers said. Earlier, organizers said, the top 10 models got the chance of a lifetime to walk in Torrid’s debut at New York Fashion Week, considered as the most inclusive and diverse in history.

Miller was among 15,000 young women who applied this year via online and in-person casting calls throughout the nation, officials noted.

"Plus brand Torrid is a positive leader for change in the fashion industry, speaking to a traditionally under-served market and inspiring real women to not only embrace their curves but flaunt them," organizers said. "Through their 3rd annual Model Search, Torrid is continuing to help women realize their dreams — from walking the biggest stage in fashion to becoming a role model to their peers and generations to follow."

The Torrid runway show served as a showcase for the brand’s third annual Model Search competition, serving as the semi-final competitive round for the top 10 finalists. This year over 15,000 girls applied and the finalists were selected by a panel of judges comprised of influencers and celebrities including designer and Project Runway winner Ashley Nell Tipton, celebrity makeup artist Pricilla Ono, and supermodel Candice Huffine. These finalists hit the runway before going on to the third and final round of competition, where the winner is chosen by Torrid friends and fans through online voting.
