Round Rock Man's Christmas Day Death Probed As Homicide

Joshua Armstrong, 37, was found dead inside home at 1100 block of Preserve Place in what initially was believed to be a suicide.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Police are investigation a suspicious death in late December as a homicide, according to reports.

Police told media outlets on Friday they are probing the death of Joshua Armstrong, 37, as a case of homicide. His body was found inside a home along the 1100 block of Preserve Place. A family member is said to have called for an ambulance suspecting the death was by suicide, but police immediately categorized the death as suspicious.

An online obituary indicates Armstrong graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in biomedical science, working as an emergency medical technician while still in college. He then moved to Round Rock to be close to family members, working in pharmaceutical product development for three different companies, PPD, INC Research Holdings and ICON, according to information found in the obituary.

"Josh was a sensitive, considerate, sweet, charitable, fun loving, Christian young man who loved cars and loved to hunt, fish, camp, and water ski, and he loved to travel with his parents," the obituary reads. "He had taken his parents on a memorable trip to the UK…traveling by plane, car, train, and ferry to London, Scotland, and Ireland. Other trips with his parents were to Hawaii and a cruise to Cancun, Mexico."
