Seton Medical Center Williamson Round Rock Bathed In Pink Light For Breast Cancer Awareness

Another hospital in Kyle also is in the pink throughout October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encourage mammograms.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock has a special glow about it in October. The facility will be bathed in pink light through the end of the month to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encourage women to get regular mammograms.

Another area hospital, Seton Medical Center Hays also will be glowing in pink. Seton Healthcare Family supports many outreach efforts to fight breast cancer, which is diagnosed in one of eight women in the U.S. in their lifetimes. It's the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of death among women in the U.S.

Annually, more than 246,000 women develop breast cancer and more than 40,000 women die from the scourge in the U.S., according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Early diagnosis dramatically increases a person's chances of survival. More than 2.8 million breast cancer survivors are alive today in the U.S., according to the foundation.

The hospitals will be lit up in pink hue every night through Oct. 31. Seton Medical Center Williamson is located at 201 Seton Parkway while Seton Medical Center Hays is at 6001 Kyle Parkway in Kyle, Texas, 22 miles south of Austin.
