Backpack Filled With Tools Prompts Police Response In Round Rock
Police descended to the 2600 block of Henley Drive at around 9:45 a.m.Tuesday before determining the package posed no threat to the public.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Police gave the all-clear late Tuesday morning after an unattended backpack filled with tools near a hiking trail prompted an emergency response to assess the level of threat the package posed.
The police activity was centered along the 2600 block of Henley Drive at around 9:45 a.m., the Round Rock Police Department wrote on Twitter. Members of the Austin Police Department bomb squad also were called to assist in the operation, local law enforcement officials said.
Just before 11:20 a.m., Round Rock police said the package was determined to be benign. As part of their update, local police took the time to thank their Austin counterparts for having assisted in the operation.

"We'd like to thank the Austin Police bomb squad for clearing an unattended backpack with a suspicious note attached near the Woodlen Hike and Bike Trail this morning," police wrote. "It was determined to contain tools, and no threat to the public."

ROUND ROCK, TX — Police on Tuesday were investigating a suspicious package, officials said.
The police activity was centered along the 2600 block of Henley Drive, the Round Rock Police Department wrote on Twitter. Members of the Austin Police Department bomb squad have been called to assist in the operation, local law enforcement officials said.
Police first received notice of the suspicious package at 9:45 a.m., officials said. Residents are urged to avoid the area as police assess the level of threat is assessed and neutralize the threat. Patch will update when more information is known.
