Terron Everston Named New Williamson County Engineer

He'll start his new job on Jan. 1 after having served in various other capacities during his 16 years at the county.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Terron Everston has been selected as the next Williamson County engineer, officials said on Tuesday.

Everston will officially start the job on Jan. 1, 2017. As county engineer, Everston will be responsible for the county's engineering regulatory affairs, such as subdivision plat review; roadway signage; traffic speed studies; and FEMA floodplain program management.

Everston started working at Williamson County in October 2010, and was named director of the Road & Bridge Division in May of 2011. As director, he was responsible for the design and maintenance of the county’s 1,400-mile roadway system, officials said.

He began his engineering career with the Texas Department of Transportation, where he served in various positions including as a design engineer for the Central Texas Turnpike Project (SH130, SH 45 and Loop 1), a construction engineer for the IH 35/SH 45 directional interchange, and as the TxDOT Austin District’s director of Right of Way and Utilities. Evertson earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a licensed Professional Engineer, a certified flood plain manager, and holds other certificates in roadway construction materials and inspection, according to his resume.

Prior to his engineering career, Everston served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In his free time, he volunteers as a coach and Scout leader for his children’s activities.

Everston was born and raised in the Central Texas area and has been married for 14 years to his wife, Karen. They have 11-year-old twins, Elizabeth and Jacob.
