It's Time Once Again For 'Festival of Bands' In Round Rock

The 17th annual gathering showcases the musical talents of students from 15 different campuses.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- The 17th Annual Festival of Bands is coming up in early October.

Band members from across Round Rock ISD are scheduled to gather Oct. 3 for the district's annual meet showcasing the talent of fine arts students at 15 schools, district officials said.

The event at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Marching bands and auxiliaries from Cedar Ridge,, McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point and Westwood high schools will perform marching performances and lead middle school students in group performances, according to district officials.

Each high school marching band will perform an exhibition music piece with middle schools in its respective feeder pattern, district officials said. The exhibition bands consist of Canyon Vista, Cedar Valley, Chisholm Trail, Deerpark, Grisham, Hernandez, Hopewell, Ridgeview, and Walsh middle schools.

Tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for students. Children five years old and younger will be admitted for free. Festival of Bands t-shirts will be on sale at the event and proceeds will support the District’s Individual Music Instruction Program scholarships.
The grand finale will be performed by the Texas State University Marching Band.
