Trustees Approve $1.5 Million To Build Ag-Related Facilities
Construction on agriculture science classroom, barn and bleachers now set to begin this summer.
ROUND ROCK, TX --Members of the school district’s board of trustees recently approved a $1.5 million expenditure to start building facilities related to agricultural studies and school bleachers at McNeil High School this coming summer.
By virtue of trustees’ approval, construction of the facilities is scheduled to begin this summer. Plans call for purchase of steel for agriculture science classrooms, an ag science barn and replacement of bleachers.
It’s all part of the so-called McNeil Master Plan. The expenditure approval took place late last month.

The winning bid for the work went to Cadence McShane Construction Company, LLC. The McNeil Master plan totals more than $28 million, district officials said. The project was approved as part of a 2014 bond referundum.
“The priorities for Phase 1 of the McNeil Master Plan were set by the staff and the community,” Chief Operating Officer Bob Cervi said in a prepared statement. “The summer construction will occur during downtime when animals will be gone. The barn will be started and finished before school begins in August.”

Future GMP-related approvals are scheduled for regular board meetings in March and May, school district officials noted. The second GMP will fund agriculture science classrooms, interior renovations and the central plant while the third GMP will fund the performing arts and special education additions.
