Two Charged After Shooting In Round Rock Drug Deal Gone Bad

Anthony Pantoja, 18, and Jadira Jaimes-Rojo, 19, both of Round Rock, charged with aggravated assault with deadly weapon after dealer shot.

ROUND ROCK, TX — A man was shot in the arm on Wednesday during a drug deal initiated on Snapchat, according to a published report.

The victim was shot in the right elbow before the bullet passed through the bicep and then grazing the chest without penetrating it, according to an affidavit referenced by the Austin American-Statesman. Anthony Pantoja, 18, Jadira Jaimes-Rojo, 19, both of Round Rock, were each charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The violent confrontation began when the victim met Jaimes-Rojo on Snapchat when they agreed to meet at the Foxfire Apartments along the 2100 block of Willowbend Drive for a marijuana sale, according to the report.

As the transaction was being conducted, the victim rolled down a passenger side window to greet an approaching Pantoja along with another unidentified man, asking if they wanted to buy some pot. That's when Pantoja allegedly pointed a gun in the victim's face demanding his marijuana and money, according to the affidavit.

The victim’s friend put the car into reverse in trying to drive off when gunfire ensued.

After police caught up with Pantoja and Jaimes-Rojo, the two were booked into the Williamson County Jail with bail set at $60,000 each. They were both charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
