Stony Point High School Teacher/Coach Killed After Being Hit By Car: Round Rock Police [UPDATED]
Sean Kelley, 43, was one of two pedestrians killed in Round Rock in separate incidents within five hours of each other.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Two pedestrians were killed overnight Saturday in separate incidents — one of them a teacher/coach at Stony Point High School — according to school and police officials.
The first incident occurred at around 11 p.m. Friday at the Main Street/West Mays Street intersection when a vehicle hit a pedestrian, Round Rock police said. By Saturday evening, police had identified the victim as Sean Kelley, 43, of Round Rock.
Kelley was a coach and teacher at Stony Point High School, officials with Round Rock ISD said in a statement issued Saturday evening. According to his official bio, Kelley graduated from the University of Iowa in 1996 where he studied psychology and education. Before that, he graduated from Iowa City High School in 1991.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends and ask our students, parents, staff, and community members to do the same,” the statement reads. “Please keep your thoughts and prayers with Sean’s family during this difficult time.”

School officials said grief counselors would be made available to students and faculty dealing with the sudden loss of the teacher.

The Round Rock Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this incident and the circumstances surrounding it. Those with information are urged to call police at 512-218-5500.
The second incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday when a pedestrian was struck in the 3400 block of East Palm Valley Boulevard, police said. The driver in that collision stayed at the scene and cooperated with police in their investigation.
The victim of the second accident has not been identified. Police ask anyone with information that might be helpful to each investigation to call them at (512) 218-5500.
