Two Simultaneous Vehicle Wrecks Cause Round Rock Traffic Snarls

All told, seven vehicles were involved in the 2 p.m. collision along West Palm Valley Boulevard (U.S. 79), resulting in one injury.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Two simultaneous car accidents in near proximity involving seven vehicles in Round Rock Monday afternoon has been cleared but not before causing considerable traffic delays on U.S. 79, officials said.

Police were alerted to the collision at 1:56 p.m., Round Rock Police Department Nicholas Olivier told Patch. The wreck occurred just east of Interstate 35 along U.S. 79 (West Palm Valley Boulevard) fronting a Texaco gas station across from the Round Rock West shopping center, he confirmed.

Olivier said the wrecks closed off access to traffic for more than an hour. Three vehicles were inoperable after the collision, requiring wreckers to be dispatched to remove them, he added. Only one injury was reported, but the nature of the victim's injuries were unclear.
