Upcoming Fitness Day Benefiting Round Rock Police Foundation
SICFIT Round Rock officials teaming up with foundation for inaugural event seek sponsors, vendors for September event.

ROUND ROCK, TX β A local business owned by a cancer-surviving veteran will team up with police officials for an upcoming day of fun and fitness, officials said.
SICFIT Round Rock officials said the company will be partnering with the Round Rock Police Foundation to host the inaugural event on Sept. 16. The event is meant to bring together the Central Texas community with local police, firefighters, EMS, active military, veterans, and small businesses while encouraging fun in fitness, according to officials.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Round Rock Police Foundation, which works to further support Round Rock police officers and the community as a whole.

From a kidsβ obstacle course to a fitness competition specifically designed for teens, the event is meant for all ages, company officials said in a news advisory. Events for adults are also planned, both in individual and team classes. The events will allow civilians, first responders (police, firefighters, and EMS), active military and veterans to join together and compete for fun on a level playing field.
Launched in December 2015, SICFIT Round Rock is a veteran and cancer survivor-owned small business within the Round Rock community with a mission is to empower people to become better, stronger, and healthier versions of themselves. The company acronym stands for "Strength in Conditioning Fitness," a company spokeswoman said.

βThe event is much bigger than just an athletic competition," noted SICFIT co-owner Kaleigh Chatfield. "We want people from all walks of life to join together for a day of health, wellness, community, and competition. Our goal is for everyone to walk away from the day feeling accomplished, strong, and as proud of living in Central Texas as we feel."
In order to make this first year a success, SICFIT Round Rock needs help from the local community, company officials said. Currently, the company seeks fellow local businesses, corporations, and community members to help both sponsor the event and attend as vendors. Sponsorships and vendor fees will directly support the Round Rock Police Foundation and help lay the groundwork for a cohesive, uplifting, and like-minded community event.
βWhen the Round Rock Police Foundation approached us last year with the idea of putting on an event that would help to complement their existing work within this community, we jumped at the chance to make a positive impact on an even greater number of people than we are able to reach within our gymβs 90-year old walls,β SICFIT Round Rock co-owner, Mike Allred said. βThe city has already taken so much initiative to make fitness and wellness accessible to its residents, and to bring together first responders and the community, and we want to continue to encourage and expand upon that.β
To that end, Round Rock Sportβs Complex has been secured for Saturday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vendor booths will be available inside the air-conditioned complex and opportunities for ad sponsorship and specific event sponsorship is available as well.
