Upcoming Round Rock Council Meeting Focused On Municipal Growth
Single-family home development and financial incentives to lure more businesses are among the items to be discussed this week.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- The next regular meeting of the Round Rock City Council will be reflective of the city's brisk growth, with items from approving single-family zoning to bolstering financial inducements to lure additional businesses as part of the agenda.
One item scheduled for discussion during the April 28 meeting is a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a real estate contract with Sunrise Burger, Ltd. for the purchase of a .119-acre tract of land and an accompanying temporary construction easement needed for the University Boulevard Widening Project.
Another item for discussion centers on a proposed interlocal agreement with Williamson County officials related to engineering and surveying services for the Oak Bluff Drainage Project. Another similar item is focused on the signing of a contract for engineering services with Lockwood, Andrews & Newman, Inc., for the Oak Bluff/Greenfield Drainage Improvements Project.

Council members also will discuss a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a consulting services agreement with HOT Inspection Services, Inc. for the 2016 Lake Creek Ground Storage Tank Improvements Project.
Single family home development is the focus of another item for discussion, with another ordinance approving original zoning as the planned unit development zoning district on nearly 20 acres of land located northeast of the intersection of Old Settlers Boulevard and A.W. Grimes Boulevard. Thursday's action will be the second reading of the proposed ordinance.

In executive session, council members will talk about creating financial incentives to lure more industry. The move is intended "...to deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive to business prospects considering Round Rock as a location for new businesses that would bring economic development to the city," according to the official agenda.
The meeting is scheduled Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. in the city council chambers located at 221 East Main St.
