🌱 Water Boil At Local Schools + Azaiez On Administrative Leave

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Round Rock.

Good day, people of Round Rock! It's me again, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Round Rock Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and cool. High: 54 Low: 30.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Round Rock:

  1. In Round Rock, 20 schools and four district faculties have been affected by the boil water notice. Staff is working to ensure safe water for the students, but in the meantime are asking parents to send their kids to school with refillable bottles filled with bottled water or tap water boiled for at least three minutes. (FOX 7 Austin)
  2. The Round Rock Parents Associated stopped the Round Rock school district from banning the book, "Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You" by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. Founder and Chief Community Catalyst Keiawnna Pitts explained, "Stamped [was] giving children the tools that they need to understand where could racist ideas come from, and how they are still impacting us today." (MSNBC)
  3. Locals have lost faith in the Round Rock ISD due to the many controversies since early 2021. The latest incident placed Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez on administrative leave yesterday, while the assault allegations from Sept. 14 are investigated. (Community Impact Newspaper)
