WilCo County Fair And Rodeo Slogan Sought

Organizers of the county's first-ever county fair and rodeo hope to round up a winning slogan with s contest that's open to the public.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Yee-haw: Williamson County is planning its first County Fair and Rodeo this year, and organizers said Tuesday they are in search of an original slogan to fit the inaugural event.

“Every fair and rodeo across the nation dedicates a theme for each year’s event, so we decided to let the residents help us by holding a contest,” Scott Heselmeyer, president of the Williamson County Fair and Rodeo Association, said in a prepared statement. “We want the residents to submit ideas, and then we will pick semi-finalists for the public to vote on through our Facebook page.”

Officials noted Williamson County has a rich history and cherished traditions dating back to the first settlers of Texas. It also has a bright future in the growing field of agricultural science and technology, officials added. Given such dynamics, officials added, the winning slogan would bridge the past with the present and future.

Five words or less? How about: "WilCo: It's Our First Rodeo." Or: "Lasso Up Fun In WilCo." Maybe: "Rope Them Dogies In WilCo." Okay, these need some work. Put on your thinking caps, pardners.
