WilCo EMS Stages Annual Employee Awards Ceremony

Awards were distributed to those involved in resuscitation of cardiac arrest patients, delivery of babies and other life-saving work.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS — Williamson County EMS recently staged their annual ceremony to recognize the work paramedics perform on a daily basis.

The March 25 event showcased first responders' actions in the care and resuscitation of cardiac arrest patients, the delivery of babies, recognition for excellent medical care and customer service. To that end, the department distributed 75 individual Phoenix awards for 24 cardiac arrest saves.

The Phoenix award is given to each paramedic who was involved in the care of the cardiac arrest patient. The patient must present in cardiac arrest, have a return of pulse, and be discharged from the hospital neurologically intact.

The department awarded several other awards during the program.

  • Field Training Officer Taylor Kellogg received the 2019 Medical Director Award. The Medical Director Award is given to recognize a paramedic who represents the best of Williamson County EMS by demonstrating both professional and personal dedication to excellence in medicine and education.
  • Lt. Wes Morrison and Paramedic Scott Chick received the 2019 John Sneed Customer Service Award. This award recognizes a paramedic that best represents the ideals and intent behind the Williamson County EMS Way. Morrison and Chick have a history of providing excellent customer service and dedication to others during their time of need.
  • Field Training Officer Kirsti Elias received the 2019 Director’s Award. This award recognizes a paramedic who represents the best of Williamson County EMS by demonstrating both professional and personal dedication. Elias has a history of providing outstanding education to the public.
  • Elias also received the 2019 Paramedic of the Year Award. Elias was nominated by her peers and selected by her peers for this award. Elias was recognized for her work in bettering the department.
  • The department honored recent promotions for Field Training Officers and Senior Medical Officers.
  • The department also recognized team members with years of service to the department ranging from 5 years of service to 30 years of service.
