WilCo Illness Count Grows To 588, No New Deaths

The number of cases of the coronavirus increased by four from the previous day, less than the 19 more reported on Tuesday.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX β€” The number of cases of the coronavirus increased by four from the previous day, bringing the total count to 588. No new fatalities were reported over the course of 24 hours, keeping the level at 22.

The number of new cases is significantly less than the 19 reported on Tuesday over a 24-hour period. The statistics are found on a dashboard updated daily by the Williamson County and Cities Health District.

According to the dashboard, 345 people have recovered from illness after contracting the respiratory illness virus, 11 more than reported on Tuesday.

The uptick in illness was reported the same day Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new round of business reopening, allowing via proclamation for water parks and food courts within malls to open for business. Sports programs also will be allowed to resume under the order, but sporting competitions won't be allowed to resume until June 15.

Under the gubernatorial proclamation, driver education programs, food-court dining areas within shopping malls, recreational sports programs for adults and water parks can reopen with limited occupancy and regulations designed to protect the health and safety of residents.
