WilCo Offers Residents Special Father's Day Gift With Free Movie

Judge reached out to Schulman Theaters to screen movie about father's important role, and operators have agreed to show it for free.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — This Father’s

Day, Justice of the Peace Evelyn McLean and Schulman Theaters are teaming up to give families a special present: Schulman Theaters will be offering free showings of the movie Courageous, a movie that focuses on the importance of the relationship between fathers and their children.

“Since taking office in January, I've already seen so many cases where families are hurting, with serious and significant consequences," McLean said. "Our community is in need of change, and I believe in order to affect that change, we must start at home."

Judge McLean reached out to Schulman Theaters’ City Lights theater in Georgetown with her idea to show the Christian dramatic film, according to county officials. As a family-owned company, the theater operators immediately agreed not only to screen the movie locally but at all of their six locations throughout Texas.

“I was moved by Judge McLean’s attempt to make a difference, and we wanted to be a small part of it because it aligns with two of our four core values of community and family,” Jacob Schulman of Schulman Theaters explained.

Schulman’s City Lights Theater on Wolf Ranch Parkway in Georgetown will show the movie on Sunday, June 16, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Monday, June 17, at 7 p.m. The FREE tickets are available for pick up at the Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Office in the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, 100 Wilco Way, in Georgetown.

“Through this event we are hopeful all parents will leave feeling inspired to be even better parents and that we can begin to look for more ways to build awareness and start to address the heart of the issues that are impacting our families and precious children,” McLean said.
