WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — A recent ribbon-cutting ceremony ushered in the new Williamson County Georgetown Annex housing various key government functions.

The May 3 ceremony was attended by around 100 members of the public, employees and public officials along with members of the East View High School choir who sang the national anthem. The annex building at 100 Wilco Way in Georgetown, Texas, is a new two-story, 60,000 square foot structure housing the offices of Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey, Constable Kevin Stofle and Justice of the Peace Evelyn McLean as well as Purchasing, Human Resources, Veterans Services, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. The building also holds multiple meeting and conference rooms and a training/teaching space for AgriLife Extension.

“As Williamson County continues to grow, the Georgetown Annex will serve as a highly functional space to assist our county residents," Carter said. "It’s an exciting addition to our community, and I look forward to watching all of the great work continue in the new facility.”

Added Commissioner Valerie Covey: “This is the first time that the Precinct 3 officials have been in the same building, and we’re very excited to be just down the hall from each other. But it not just us, we have seven departments that are located here together, and all are working hard every day to service our citizens.”

Employees of the various affected departments started preparing for their move to the new annex building as early as January, according to a previous county press advisory. A groundbreaking ceremony for the facility took place on Sept. 12, 2017.

KAH Architecture was the architect for the new facility while Chasco Constructors served as construction manager-at-risk with a guaranteed maximum price of $14,919,081 to build the site. County officials said the contract came in under budget, and within the contractual schedule.

In preparing for move-in, county offices closed on a rotating schedule as moves to the annex were completed. Among those making the move to the new site are:

  • Precinct 3 commissioner's office formerly located at 3010 Williams Dr.
  • Purchasing Office formerly located at 901 S. Austin Ave.
  • Justice of the Peace Precinct 3, formerly at 301 S.E. Inner Loop.
  • Precinct 3 constable's office, which also was located 301 S.E. Inner Loop.
  • Veteran Services, once at 3151 S.E. Inner Loop.
  • Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, which used to be at 3151 S.E. Inner Loop.
  • Human Resources, formerly at 301 S.E. Inner Loop.
