WilCo Police Search For Tossed Gun Near Round Rock
According to a published report, a suspect discarded the gun near the Teravista neighborhood early Thursday morning.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Williamson County sheriff's deputies were searching for a gun believed to have been tossed in a neighborhood near Round Rock during a police chase, according to a published report.
The weapon is believed to have been discarded by a suspect near Teravista neighborhood in a police pursuit the same morning, the Austin American-Statesman reported. According to the sheriff's office, the suspect tossed the gun as he fled from police at around 5 .m. before he was caught and placed under custody.
Deputies were searching for the weapon with the aid of police canines, according to the report. Law enforcement officials urged residents to not touch the firearm if they happen to come across it, and instead call 9-1-1.
