Williamson County Commissioner Long Elected Chair Of CAMPO
With the election, she becomes first WilCo representative and first woman to serve in the chairmanship role for the six-county board.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — At its January meeting, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) Policy Board unanimously elected Williamson County Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long as its 2020-2021 Chair, county officials said.
Long becomes the first Williamson County representative and first woman to serve in the chairmanship role for the six-county CAMPO Board.
“I am honored to be selected by my transportation colleagues in the Central Texas region to lead our organization at this crucial time," Long said in a prepared statement. "Two of CAMPO’s most important functions are planning for the future of transportation and allocation of funds to high priority projects in the six county region, including Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties."

Long has served on CAMPO since 2007 and have previously served as Vice-Chair. She has a passion for common sense transportation solutions and has earned her place in the region as a transportation leader.
“Cynthia Long is an exceptional leader. Now she has the opportunity to be a leader in our region and our state,” Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell added. “I am not aware of an appointment of a Williamson County elected official that has happened in the past 20 years that is as significant as the one that happened last night.”
