Williamson County Commissioners Appoint Laura Barker Judge For County Court-At-Law #2

She won't face a Democratic challenger in November, so she'll be sworn into office June 17.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX -- The Commissioners Court this week appointed Laura Barker as County Court-at-Law #2 judge, effective June 17.

Barker won the Republican primary for the post, and doesn't face a Democratic challenger in the November election, county officials explained. She was formally appointed during the Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting this past Tuesday.

Barker is scheduled to be sworn into office June 17 at 2 p.m. in the 277th District Courtroom at the Williamson County Justice Center, 405 MLK, in Georgetown, Texas. The ceremony is open to the public.
