Williamson County Coronavirus Count Grows To 2,339
The triple-digit spike comes one day after 130 new cases of respiratory illness emerged in the county.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The number of cases of the coronavirus in Williamson County grew by 109 cases on Wednesday, raising the historical illness count to 2,339, health officials said on Wednesday.
The triple-digit spike comes one day after 130 new cases of respiratory illness emerged in the county. On Tuesday, another two patients — women in their 50s and 80s — succumbed to the illness. The two deaths rose the death count to 39, which remained unchanged on Wednesday.
There are 1,322 active cases of the illness, and 932 have recovered. The data are found on a statistical dashboard maintained by the Williamson County and Cities Health District.

Coronavirus has been particularly lethal this week in Williamson County. In addition to the two deaths reported on Tuesday, another two patients — a man in his 40s and another in his 80s — succumbed to the illness. The previous Sunday a man in his 40s died of the respiratory illness preceded by the deaths of two elderly patients last Friday.

All told, seven people in Williamson County died of coronavirus in the span of less than week's time.
Data show Round Rock has the greatest concentration of illness, with 451 active cases reported on Wednesday — 34 more than the previous day. Georgetown was second in terms of reported illness in the county with 255 cases, three more than the previous day.
