The Williamson County Sheriff's Office identified one of the suspects by name, even though he is still a minor at 17 years old. "He is considered an adult even though he is still 17," a sheriff's spokesperson said via email in response to a query. "It’s pretty tricky, but if he were a runaway or still enrolled in school then he would be considered a juvenile."

Patch has chosen not to identify the second juvenile suspect involved in the case.
