Williamson County Key Races Settled In Primary Election
Voters settled on Republican nominees for county judge, commissioner and treasurer but Precinct 4 commissioner hopefuls head to May runoff.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Several key primary races were decided after Tuesday's primary elections.
Justice of the Peace Bill Gravell defeated former Round Rock City Council member Frank Leffingwell in the Republican nomination for Williamson County judge. Gravell received Gravell received 17,580 votes (52.4 percent of the electorate) and Leffingwell secured 15,979 votes (47.6 percent). Gravell will next face Democrat Blane Conklin in the November general election.
Cynthia Long was victorious in her quest for the Republican nomination for the Precinct 2 County Commissioner seat against Bart Turek. Long got 4,788 votes (68.3 percent) to Turek's 2,218 votes (31.7 percent). Long will face Democrat Kasey Redus in November.

Scott Heselmeyer won against Lee Ann Seitsinger in the race for county treasurer. Heselmeyer, the incumbent, got 18,937 votes (62.8 percent) with Seitsinger a distant second with 11,215 votes (37.2 percent).
Republican Heselmeyer will next square off against Democrat Omar Kadir in November.
In a crowded four-way ballot for the Precinct 4 commissioner's seat, Russ Boles and Bobby Seiferman will face off in a May 22 runoff since neither secured a majority vote in the Republican ticket. Boles got 2,431 votes (38.9 percent) and Seiferman got 1,595 votes (25.5 percent). Heather Peal finished third with 1,368 votes (21.9 percent) and David Marek received 857 votes (13.7 percent).
