Williamson County Lifts Burn Ban In Round Rock, Elsewhere

But residents still might need to report their controlled burns by alerting officials at (512) 864-8282.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Williamson County officials lifted the region's burn ban Monday, including in Round Rock.

Dry conditions with temperatures in the upper 90s and sometimes hitting 100 degrees prompted officials to implement an outdoor burn ban to avoid the potential for grass and structure fires. But recent rain has had the effect of not only cooling off the area but making area plant life less flammable.

Still, county officials urge residents wishing to conduct a controlled burn to contact their local fire department as some departments may require a burn permit. To report controlled burns, call (512) 864-8282.
