Williamson County Sheriff Deputies Alerted To Suspicious Package
Police canines have been dispatched to post office at 16450 N. FM 620 to help assess threat level of parcel, sheriff reported.

UPDATE: The suspicious package identified by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday was ultimately deemed benign. Sheriff Robert Chody issued the all-clear about an hour after the parcel was spotted, indicating it was of a benign nature.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — The Williamson County Sheriff's Office late Tuesday reported its deputies were assessing a potentially suspicious package at a post office.

The package is inside the post office located at 16450 N. FM 620, Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody wrote on Twitter. He added that police canines has been dispatched to aid in the investigation.
The bomb-sniffing dog alerted negative to the presence of bomb-making materials, Chody reported, but the drug-sniffing dog aleted positive. Chody stressed the public is not in any danger, despite the discovery of the package.
