Woman Once Believed Victim Admits To Role In Aggravated Robbery: Round Rock Police

ROUND ROCK, TX — A woman once believed to have been a victim in a robbery has acknowledged she was actually an accomplice, according to a published report.

Michaela Lummus, 28, confessed to police of the role she played in an attempt to steal a car owned by Andrew Cervantes on May 11 at the Red Hills Vista apartments, the Austin American-Statesman reported in referencing an arrest affidavit.

Lummus and two accomplices, Anthony Parks Jr., 19 and McKenzie Marzett, 19, reportedly lured Cervantes via text message as part of a ruse to steal his car, according to the affidavit. Upon is arrival, Lummus entered the car and sat next to the victim, the report indicates.

Parks ran toward the vehicle while armed with a shotgun yelling for them to exit the vehicle. That's when the shotgun went off, the blast hitting Cervantes and Lummus in the face and head, according to the affidavit. Parks is said to have helped Lummus out of the vehicle while retreating to Parks' apartment, the affidavit reads.

Lummus and Cervantes were both transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Bit in a subsequent interview with police, she admitted to her role in the criminal caper, according to the report. She was charged with aggravated robbery, punishable with a sentence ranging from five to 99 years in prison.

Police noted the incident is connected to a string of shootings from May 10-11 in Round Rock and Pflugerville, as the Statesman reported. In another arrest affidavit, Marzett is said to have participated in a robbery on May 10 at a 7-Eleven convenience store on Gattis School Road in Round Rock. Another teenager involved in that robbery, Robert Joseph Uribe, now faces a murder charge in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Jose Avidan Martinez earlier that same day, the Statesman noted in its report.
