Woman Wins Car After Spending 50 Hours 'Kissing' Automobile In Round Rock

Dilini Jayasuria, 30, was one of seven contestants left after marathon smooching, in the end winning by random drawing.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Every kiss begins with...Kia?

After 50 hours of contestants pressing their lips against a Kia Optima at a Round Rock car dealership in hopes of winning it for the longest-lasting pucker-upper, an Austin woman emerged the winner. Dilini Jayasuria, 30, emerged as the winner of the coveted Kia.

Radio station 96.7 KISS FM staged the contest, dubbed "Kiss a Kia." All told, 20 contestants vied for the vehicle by pressing their lips to it. Contestants were given 10-minute breaks each hour to eat, drink or use the bathroom. The breaks also presumably allowed them to regain feeling in their lips.

For 50 hours (yes, FIFTY HOURS), contestants stayed affixed to the surface of the car while ensuring contact was maintained or risk being disqualified. The marathon buss began at 8 a.m. Monday and ended on Wednesday. A random drawing of the seven lone entrants remaining yielded the winner.

The winner was clearly excited in being awarded the car, jumping into the vehicle she spent 50 hours essentially kissing. One can only wonder at the depth of existential crisis among the other half-dozen contestants walking away sans vehicle, having nothing to show for having allowed themselves to be used as human, puckered spectacle for a radio promotion as entertainment for the masses.
