- On Saturday, Jan. 1 at 12:20 a.m., San Antonio welcomed its first 2022 New Year's baby! Baby Nadia, a beautiful and healthy baby girl, was born at Methodist Hospital and weighed 7 pounds and 1.6 ounces. Nadia's mother, Lamia Issad and father, Achour Medaouri "are first-time parents and told Methodist Hospital that they are honored to be recognized by the city." Director of Methodist's Mother-Baby Unit Trish Horlacher congratulated the family, who received gifts from the local hospitals, and said "Nadia's arrival is a great start to 2022!" She added, "The arrival of baby Nadia is the perfect way to kick off another year of doing what we do best; caring for women and infants of San Antonio and South Texas."
