Today's riddle: Whatz the difference between Dubai...and Abu Dhabi? 🤔 (Answer below!)
Weather forecast:
1. New flood sensors to cut warning time from 30-45 minutes to about five (news4sanantonio.com) — Bexar County is rolling out a $21 million upgraded flood warning system that will cut alert times from up to 45 minutes to about five, aiming to better protect San Antonio-area drivers at low-water crossings. New gauges, gate arms, and sensors—managed with the San Antonio River Authority—will feed into BexarFlood.org, with most equipment upgraded by next summer and more locations added where water rises fastest.
2. BCSO arrests 2 suspects in major drug bust on San Antonio's east side (kens5.com) — A major undercover Bexar County Sheriff’s Office operation on San Antonio’s East Side led to two arrests and the seizure of large quantities of cocaine, meth, marijuana, THC vapes, weapons and a stolen high-end truck. Investigators say the unfurnished Nelson Avenue house appeared to be used solely as a drug stash location, and the suspects could face federal charges.
3. SAWS board approves proposed three-year water rate increase for San Antonio customers (news4sanantonio.com) — San Antonio Water System’s board has approved a proposed three-year rate increase that could raise the average customer’s bill by about $15–$20. The plan, which boosts charges for water, wastewater and some fees, still needs City Council approval and could take effect as soon as July 1.
4. Toyota eyes $2B expansion, 2,000 jobs; Palo Alto College pitches workforce pipeline (foxsanantonio.com) — Toyota is weighing a $2 billion expansion in San Antonio that could add up to 2,000 manufacturing jobs averaging about $88,000 a year. Palo Alto College says it’s ready to train local students for these roles as the city’s manufacturing sector is projected to keep growing.
5. 'It's scary': SAPD investigating sexual assault involving woman who woke up naked on northeast side trail (kens5.com) — San Antonio police are investigating a reported sexual assault after a woman was found injured and without clothes along the Salado Creek Greenway near 8500 Laurens Lane on the Northeast Side.
