1. M.K. Davis reopens after losing power during San Antonio storm (mysanantonio.com) — M.K. Davis Restaurant in San Antonio's Five Points neighborhood has reopened after losing power during the catastrophic August 28 storm, which forced days of closure and threatened its frozen inventory. With electricity restored Monday and doors open again as of Tuesday, the 70-year-old Tex-Mex spot is back to regular hours on North Flores Street, buoyed by strong community support.
   

2. Tex-Mex eatery plans $3.5M rooftop bar on San Antonio River Walk (mysanantonio.com) — San Antonio River Walk favorite Casa Rio is investing $3.5 million in The Night Heron, a new 4,000-square-foot rooftop bar planned for its downtown location on East Commerce Street. Construction is slated to start September 21 and wrap by late 2027, bringing locals more river-view space, cocktails, natural wines, and small plates just steps from the water.
   

3. He also urges locals to review coverage, deductibles, and property maintenance, so future storms don't create unexpected financial strain.
   

4. DHS signs $17.3M contract to convert east-side San Antonio warehouse into ICE facility, online records say (kens5.com) — A $17.3 million federal contract will convert a massive warehouse on San Antonio's east side into an ICE processing and detention facility, with capacity for 1,000 to 1,500 people. The GardaWorld-run site on SE Loop 410 is slated to operate through at least August 2027, following months of questions from local leaders about the building's intended use.
   

5. Kate Devine joins News 4 San Antonio and FOX San Antonio (blogspot.com) — San Antonio viewers will soon see journalist Kate Devine joining the on-air teams at News 4 San Antonio WOAI and FOX San Antonio.
