Camera captures man stealing mail in Northwest Side neighborhood (ksat.com) — Northwest Crossing residents in San Antonio are on edge after surveillance video captured a man turning away a camera just before mail was stolen from a cluster box, one of several recent thefts in the neighborhood. USPS and San Antonio police are investigating, while the HOA explores added security and neighbors hope someone will recognize the suspect and help stop further crimes.
3. Several century-old heritage mesquite trees cut down at Arboretum San Antonio, CEO says (kens5.com) — Four century-old mesquite trees at Arboretum San Antonio were illegally cut down, damaging what staff consider an irreplaceable living collection for the city. The nonprofit is boosting security, reporting the incident to police, and asking San Antonio visitors and neighbors to watch for and report any suspicious activity to help protect this developing green space.
4. Foreigner to team up with Children's Chorus of San Antonio (star-telegram.com) — San Antonio music lovers can see the Children's Chorus of San Antonio perform onstage with classic rock band Foreigner at the Majestic Theatre on Oct. 13. Twenty-five local teens will back the band on "I Want to Know What Love Is," highlighting youth music education and earning a donation for the chorus.
5. Harvard Club of San Antonio (harvard.edu) — Harvard alumni and friends in San Antonio have a full calendar this month, from networking nights and book clubs to a concert and Taco Tuesday meetups. Most gatherings are hosted at familiar local spots around town, offering residents with Harvard ties easy ways to connect, support the Prize Book program, and stay engaged in the broader alumni community.
