Applications Are Open For CPS Board Of Trustee – Quadrant 1 Position In City Of San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – Applicants are being sought for the CPS Energy Board of Trustee - Quadrant 1 position.

The CPS Energy Board is comprised of five Trustees with four of the Trustees representing four geographic quadrants. Each of the four Trustees can serve two five-year terms. The Board’s fifth member is the Mayor of San Antonio, who serves as an ex-officio member. The five-member Board works together to oversee the strategies and policies of the utility’s electric and natural gas systems across its formal 1,500-mile service area, which covers Bexar County and parts of seven surrounding counties.

The new Trustee will be selected from Quadrant 1 with a term beginning on February 1, 2022. Quadrant 1’s geographic area is aligned with San Antonio City Council Districts 7 and 8, and portions of Districts 1, 6, and 9. The selected CPS Energy Trustee must reside within Quadrant 1 and be a United States citizen. Except for the Mayor, each Trustees receives annual compensation of $2,000.

Regular meetings are typically held on the last Monday of each month at 1 p.m. at the CPS Energy Headquarters located at 500 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78215. Additional time requirements for the Trustees include: special board meetings, quarterly committee meetings, work sessions, public input sessions, and various other events.
