- Calling all San Antonio art lovers! "Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival, the largest event of its kind in south Texas," invites you to help create "the biggest human canvas ever made in San Antonio" on Friday, April 29 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Participants should dress in white and show up at the Merida Plaza, where they will "lay down as one part of the massive canvas-to-be, their white clothes functioning similarly to a green screen upon which the poster art will eventually be created... to emphasize the Alamo City's community spirit." Event organizers are also planning an auction from May 5-20 to raise money for Luminarias 2022, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19. During the auction, individuals will be able to bid on art items, "including prints, swag bags, gift certificates and workshops." Information on the auction can be found here.
