Councilwoman Sandoval Appointed to Serve on National League of Cities’ Transportation & Infrastructure Services Committee

SAN ANTONIO (January 15, 2021) — Councilwoman Ana Sandoval has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2021 Transportation & Infrastructure Services (TIS) Federal Advocacy Committee for a one-year term. Committee members will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities. The appointment was announced by NLC President Kathy Maness, councilmember, Lexington, South Carolina.

"As a former transportation planner, I am thrilled to serve on NLC's Transportation & Infrastructure Committee," said Councilwoman Sandoval. "San Antonio has made great strides in infrastructure and transportation policies in recent years, but we need federal action to truly address our needs.. I look forward to advocating for our community and communities across the nation."

Members of NLC’s Federal Advocacy Committees play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocating on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the administration and at home.

The leadership of this year’s TIS committee will consist of Chair David Sander, Mayor, Rancho Cordova, CA; Vice Chair Elain Clegg, Council President, Boise, ID; and Vice Chair Barbara Odom-Wesley, Councilmember, Arlington, TX
