Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales Ends Her Tenure As Chair Of The Transportation Committee In City Of San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (May 28, 2021) – Today, Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales presided over the final meeting of her tenure as chair of the city's Transportation Committee.

She issued following statement in thanks for all the work that was accomplished:

“It has been a special honor to lead the City’s transportation committee.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and of the work we’ve done to lay the groundwork for a better, safer and more equitable transportation system for the city.

I want to thank City Manager Erik Walsh for creating the new Transportation Department and for bringing Tomika Monterville on board to lead it.

The work done regarding Vision Zero, complete streets, and safe streets is and will be transformational for all of San Antonio and urge my council colleagues to continue the work we’ve started and guide us on the road to a better city.”
